The National Gallery

London

“Wright & Wright are very good.  I have been using them for about six years and they have always performed very well.  We talk a very similar language”  Charles Ross, former Head of Buildings and Facilities

Description

The National Gallery has been a repeat client for whom we have worked on a range of projects, including gallery spaces and a new security gatehouse. Most recently, we were commissioned to refurbish the Lower Galleries: a sequence of five spaces below the gallery’s main floor and next to the Central Hall. The project is the most significant modern development at the gallery since the 2001 Annenberg Court. High-quality materials are used throughout, as befits a collection of international standing. Honed black granite, oak and bronze are carefully detailed to echo the historic galleries above, while also chiming with the modern Annenberg Court. Lighting, environmental control and finishes were all carefully coordinated with the curators of the gallery.
