View project description
A new build school in Hull with residential facilities for students with Social, Emotional and Behaviour Disorder as part of the Hull BSF programme.
The plan offers clear orientation and easy circulation. Entrances and routes all emanate from the central hall. Internal routes are naturally lit to promote understanding of the buildings’ internal organisation and alert users to the presence of the gardens beyond. The brief also requires space be provided for Multi-Agency work, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, and a Child Social Care Team.
The proposed materials are a contextual response to Hull and to this particular site. They represent a counter-point to the local context and give the building a suitable civic presence.
