The first chapter in a £30 million programme renewing the Royal Academy of Music’s historic Marylebone home.
This work forms part of a three-year transformation of the Academy’s teaching, performance and collections facilities, creating spaces that better support the next generation of musicians.
The barrel-vaulted recital hall, originally designed by John McAslan in 2001, will be completely reimagined, with a renewed architectural language and a carefully recalibrated acoustic environment, aligning it with the Academy’s other public performance spaces.
Over the coming months we’ll be looking behind-the-scenes at the craftsmanship, collaboration and care involved in bringing this remarkable project to life.
